We build chillers for wineries. We don’t do chillers for hospitals, computer labs or industrial equipment. It's not that we haven’t designed great, specific glycol chillers for those applications - when you’ve been around as long as we have, you tend to see a little bit of everything - but if that’s what you’re after, you’d be better served by talking a group that specializes in that kind of equipment.
If you want a winery chiller, though, don't go to somebody who specializes in something else. Come chill with us.
We started with the Oregon winery industry in 1972 as a service group. By 1975 we’d learned we didn’t like the units we were servicing and started building our own. In the over 45 years since then, we have designed and patented several tools that change the way wineries control temperatures in the winemaking process. If we are known for anything, it is making the best damn chillers possible to increase the production of a winery. We build, install, and maintain our own equipment, and in 2017 we expanded from our Oregon and Washington footprint to offering our units and services nationwide.
It is not uncommon for us to service a Tanktemp unit that has been in place for over 20 years. We regularly hear “we love our chiller and it was old when I got here”. Most other chiller manufacturers haven’t existed as long as Tanktemp has, and it seems clear they don’t expect their chillers to last literally decades.
